Vans presents Roots Up First Thursdays
This event features a line up of 5 selectors/producers/beatmakers laying down the freshest in contemporary and alternative electronic jams. Each month also features an exhibition by a local artist.
Formed at SideBar 3 years ago, Florida Road saw the event grow from strength to strength. The closure of SideBar in February 2018 led to Roots Up moving the event to S43 in Durban's Station Drive precinct. The working relationship with S43 proved fruitful, with the event becoming one of Durban's premier monthly events. The event has now moved back to it’s home on Florida Road, currently being hosted by Republik Restaurant. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support from our event partners, Vans.
Fuego Heat's Hangouts
Fuego Heat's Hangout's occurs at S43 in Durban's Station Drive Precinct on the third Thursday of the month. The line up includes 3 curated Artist Showcase acts and 3 Headline acts, with genres ranging from anything from spoken word, rock, folk, jazz, hip hop, soul, etc. The evening winds end off with a local producer presenting his original material.
The event has been operating under it's current format at S43 since January 2018. It was originally started at the now iconic, Khaya Records, in 2016. Here the event grew to exceed the capacity of the venue which prompted the move and the tweak to the event programming.
A corporate partner for this event is still required.
